About Author Christine Hartwell
Christine Hartwell has been writing for many years, and her second book is
almost ready for publication. Christine was born in Washington D.C. and was
raised in Ft. Lauderdale Florida where she spent her summers sitting by a
lake with her ordinary duck, Louie. This ordinary duck was her first
inspiration for writing. She watched as he went through the stages of his
life and growing up from a small duckling into a large beautiful drake and
all the while she was filling her journal with stories of childhood play,
animals and several different types of love.
She never stopped
writing when the family moved to California. She began writing short stories
about the ordinary duck she left behind, articles for newsletters and
magazine publications. Her degree in Child Development also contributed to
her inspiration for publishing her first children’s book, “Dooley Rue Who
Are You” in 2012. This delightful little rhyming story is of a young girl
and her little dog who spend their day following alphabet letters to find
out who the “Dooley Rue” really is.
Christine now resides in San
Diego with her husband of 43 years. Together they share four grandchildren
and ten great-granddchildren. With 5 certifications in scuba diving, her
first love in being underwater. She also enjoys reading, writing, baking and
gardening and continues to journal.
Christine’s second book,
“The Purple Lily” was co-authored with LC Ahl, a friend she met at her book
signing. It has taken six years for them to bring this book to publishing
but the journey was worth every hour spent on it. We hope you enjoy reading
it as much as we enjoyed writing it.
